Hey all, I just bought a 91 Explorer this week and the HU has been swapped "back" to a cheaper aftrmarket HU by the PO just before he sold it. The wiring has been cut / the plugs are gone, and I need to repair the installation. The new HU is wired wrong as the speakers on the right side work like original and the left (only) side has a horible alternator sound. (note - this is not a little noise that needs a filter - it is a major high volume buzz). I'm thinking the left side neutral is wired to a hot or something.
Is there a web published wiring diagram for the Explorer? How about just the gen 1 stereo system? I spent a lot of time searching this forum and the web but didn't come up with an actual diagram. Since I'm new here did I miss it?
