the more i look at my truck, the more i think its developing a slight rear end sag. im gonna fix it by adjusting the torsion bolts up front. it looks like ill only have to adjust it about an inch (maybe a touch less.) its not extremely noticeable (ive seen much much much worse), but it bothers me and its an easy fix. my question is: will i NEED an alignment after i adjust the torsion bars? i assume i WILL need an alignment, but i just want to make sure.

as it gets closer to the time that i fix it, ill try to document, as much as possible, the procedure, since i know people ask about it all the time, even though theres lots of info on how to do the TT; im sure some people will appreciate some more pics.

thanks.

You definately need an alignment after a tortion twist lowering.

You will need camber adjusters to make this alignment possible. A quality alignment shop will have them.

The alignment will be necessary. However I doubt you will need adjusters to get back to stock height.

My TT lowering was 1 1/2" and I needed the camber adjusters.

I went up 2" from stock and didn't need them. It may be vehicle dependent when changing from the stock height. However, if he is going back to stock ride height, he will be back at the stock suspension geometry, which should not need adjusters, unless the adjusters have worn out.

The camber adjusters, but it's highly unlikely. In the old ttb setup, the adjusters wore out regularly. I went through 2 sets in 100k miles on my '92.
I don't know how they wear in the ifs setup, but I've never heard of one going.

It is my understanding that with the factory camber cams, you cannot make the necessary adjustment when lowering, I know nada about lifting.

thanks for the replies guys. i thought id need an alignment, but i just wanted to double check. im sure that i wont need any adjusters; if i end up going ahead with this project, im only gonna lower the driver side about 0.5-1.0" and the passenger side ~0.5" thats not camber adjuster territory, but if i need anything like that, i trust the shop that i go to, and im sure theyll have (or be able to get) whatever ill need - as far as im concerned, theyre the best suspension shop in southeast PA. ill keep everyone updated if i decide to play with it one day (i mean, today, in the parking lot of my gym, it looked perfectly level, just had a lot more wheel gap up front than the rear - i really need to go out and get some accurate measurements.)
