Flagstaff, AZ Cinders Run (rescheduling)

Currently, my spare motor is in pieces.. (should be completely apart tonight).. I'll order my parts tommorow, so I hope to put the motor in next weekend.

My current motor isn't happy.. Its had oil in the water for over a year, and now the water is going somewhere (I don't see a leak, and its not smoking). It lost about 1 gallon in the last 100 miles, and it wasn't happy, so I parked it and started freshening my spare motor (Thanks Hammer) on Tuesday.

Soo, in short, I'll need at least a few weeks before I can do a get together (We are now down to one street legal vehicle that moves, and I can't leave Yolanda w/out a vehicle)

Just let us know when you're good to go.

Its starting to go back together now.. I'm still waiting for my lower intake and valve cover gaskets from torie (will be here tomorrow).. and I clown painted the parts last night (engine will be 4 colors)..

I should have the crank/rods/pistons in tonight.. and if things go well, Sunday I'll have the old motor out and the new motor done..

I never thought how much longer it would take (and how much more expensive) to do a quick rebuild/engine swap on an explorer than an old car with no electronics.

well, motor is ready to go in.. but we ran out of time to start pulling mine..

As soon as the RV my helper is selling is gone (needed to do some things for the new buyer before they picked it up) we will pull my motor and drop the new one in..

pics of the motor in case anyone is interested..

You forgot to warn us to put on sunglasses before clicking on that link:eek: ;)

No longer have the Explorer. Ill still go on a run in my new toy though, if you'll allow an FJ to tag along!

Of course, it depends on if the date will fit into my schedule.

Hey Ford are you listening??? This guy has owned new Explorers since the beginning and he went with a Toyota!! You no longer have anything for US!!!

Sheesh... and they wonder why they're losing their ass.

Steven, of course your still welcome to come along. Who could blame you for buying an SUV with an emphasis on S and U;)
