flashing o/d light

Had battery change in 2002 sport trac and several miles later o/d light flashed. Transmission seemed to slip on low end, now is doing same but infrequently. Also affected clock and radio which were manually reset. Could it be from battery change and what should I do??

Welcome to this forum! The flashing indicator light indicates that you have a fault code stored in the computer. Find out what the code number is, and print it here.

I have a 95 X-Sport and a few years ago my O/D Off light started flashing every once and a while so I didnt really think too much of it. After a few more months tho the O/D Off light came on and stayed on, no blinking nothing, just like a check engine light would. Not even 2 days later my xmission blew. Get it checked out asap!

syes im not saying this is the promblem but my girlsfriend had this same exact promblem. hers just started one day and then quite then it started foing it more often. then it just got to where it did it eery time you drove it and it turned out to be the transmission. she had to go have the transmission rebuilt. and it hasnt done it sense
