Has anyone used this one of these fans as a replacement for the OE fan? I have searched for opinions on it, but never found anyone saying they used one on their Explorer. Thanks!

i had to cut a little of the bottom shroud becuz it was rubbing..... i will try and find my specs on it in a few minutes

PEACE

the big silver thing is the REQUIRED spacer

EDIT:: i was jsut informed by my dad that the brown rusty looking thing is a Ford Adapter... it is also required it spins on to the water pump

Thats just what I was looking for! How does it cool? I see you live in Florida so if it does good there I bet it'd do good most places. Where do you get the adapter, also through Flex-a-Lite or is it something you need to hit the junk yard for? Thanks again.

it cools great......... the adapter u buy from flex a lite u should be able to call them up and get them to give u the part numbers and everything.... ne other ?'s jsut let me know ...

also do u need ne other pictures ???

PEACE

No those pictures are great I just wanted to see what type of spacer setup you had and how close it put it to the radiator. So this fan makes more noise than the stocker huh?

wut u hear is the fan moving the air but its louder than stock.......

PEACE

I had the exact fan on for a while that is in the picture. Flex-a-lite had to custom make the spacer for me because I guess they didn't have it in stock even though it is listed on their website. It is a 2 inch spacer. I did not have to cut my fan shroud. I just repositioned it. The hardest part was getting the fan hub nut loose. On acceleration the needle on the engine temperature dropped a lot but after your going at a constant speed it goes back up to the normal level that the stock fan would give you. I removed mine. I was so loud that I just couldn't stand it and it didn't provide any additional gains as far as cooling goes. The replacement ford fan has one additional blade and is supposed to be better. I would go with that. The flex-a-lite is just too noisy. If you still want to go that way I have the parts to sell you if you are interested. They were only on for 300 miles.

yes it is kinda of loud but that doesnt bother me................. and i never noticed a problem with the temp gauge ........... mayeb thats becuase miens completey broke :D ........................

and 92x when my dad called to order they had everything in stock for me and i had it the next day
also i THINK ( personal opion ) that it is better than the stock fan(for replacement) and i felt a lil bit of power increase

PEACE
