Installed Flex a Lite Fan

I installed the unit last week and ran an Auto/Off/Man switch to the center console. Because of the BodyLift, I had to offset the fan to the passenger side to clear the intake tube. Also, had to make one top bracket and cut the other off. It's been in the mid 90's all week and the unit is cooling well. It was good to remove the old (stuck) 10lbs unit from the front of the engine (what a Load).

Cleaned up wiring

I placed all the wiring in Split-Loom. It almost looks Stock. With the electric fan I can now turn it off when entering water--don't have to worry about the fan splashing inside the engine compartment as with the old clutch unit..

Gained MPG with electric fan

After 2 tanks of gas it looks like a significant gain. I wont post any results until I run a few more tanks to get an average. Also, I'll be putting it to the test next week with 2 days of Wheel-n.

i bought a electric fan. i think its 14 inch.. i may be wrong. anyways, can i just mount it on the inside of the grill, like in front of all the coolers, with the air flow toward the coolers, and engine, right?

In reference to your 14" fan, I' imagine your going to use it as an auxiliary fan to assist the stock unit. When you mount it, it needs to be flush against the core not floating. If not, it's effectivness will be limited.
FlyGuy, my milage used to be 14 around town and has moved to 15. I was really surprised to see how heavy that clutch and fan was. Plus, I found that the clutch wasn't working anymore--it never fully engaged or disengaged.

ok, but there is that small tranny cooler, and then that other cooler, and then behind that the radiator, but how do i mount it flush with the tranny cooler being like half the size of the one behind it.

Not better-more convienent

Nick; I know the unit cools better at low RPM and cools just as well around town and on the highway. Plus, now I have control of when it turns on, both with the manual switch and the adjustable T-stat.
BRC; If it's a low profile fan, you may be able to fish it between the trany cooler and the Condenser coils. If not you'll have to be happy with the little bit of cooling you achieve with it mounted away from the A/C condenser coils.
