I'm doing a little cleanup in the Ex right now, and I've removed the passenger side seat and pulled the carpet back. I noticed a little corrosion starting around one of the seat bolt holes, which I will clean up...and I noticed the remains of some sort of sealant (or maybe a nylon washer ??) around the bolt hole. So my question...

Did Ford apply any sort of sealant (RTV? Seam sealer? something else?) around the seat bolt holes? If not, should I? What do you recommend? Thanks

I recently removed my seats to do some cleanup as well. There was some kind of sealant on the bolts when I took them out, though I'm not sure exactly what was used.

I cleaned mine up and used some silicone typically used for windows when I put the bolts back. Seems to have worked pretty well.
