Flowmaster Exhaust system...UPDATE.

Welp..

I finally got my flowmaster 50 series kit last week. I told him my muffler configuration, and the sales guy this would fit it.

Welp..on the weekend Hotwheels and I were gonna install the puppy....and we were VERY disappointed to find out that the kit was not made for my vehicle.

Seems I had have the Dual intake/Single output system (Dual overhead cam). But then..why does the plastic cover on my engine say "SOHC"?

I called Flowmaster this morning and told them the situation...they do not carry a kit for my config...gee..thanks flowmaster! All they could reccomaned was a muffler...50 or 70 series. I told them thanks for the help.

Welp...this morning I am taking back the flowmaster kit and most likely will be getting a GIBSON aluminum system. Still looking around for the best price...its amazing how some stores jack up the price of this. I got a price for a kit for 350 canadian at one place...and 480 from another. Wonder what the price of the gibson will be at the store where I got my flowmaster will be....hopefully close to the 350 price.

Because SOHC means you have a single overhead cam not a double. The number of inlets is unrelated to how many cams you have in your engine. Most SOHC's have the dual inlet except for later versions. 2001 and later Sports have single inlets but not sure about the 2002 and later 4drs.

id say be dissapointed in the guy that ordered it for you, not in flowmaster...

I have the same thing as you. I talked John V out of his last cat back system for taht exact same muffler. They also had the Flowmaster, is what I got, a 3" pipe with double in/single out muffler. I can't wait to get mine on and see how she sounds. At least I think it is a flowmaster, it may be a magnaflow. Hmm, I better go check now.

I just put a Flowmaster 50 system on my Ex last week, and I couldn't be happier with the sound. A nice, quiet rumble, until you open up the throttle. I open up the throttle lots.
