flowmaster force II

yeah, you can use still use your stock pipe, no problem. just make sure you order the appropriate size muffler. if you wanted, you could also order a 2.5" flowmaster and have the guy weld on a short pipe and turn down(which would sound a whole lot better). honestly, i get the biggest kick out of the guys who have a single tipe hanging out of the bottem of their. to me, it looks their trying to hard to be noticed. that's why i never use tips. i'd rather have better performance and sound. good luck w/ whatever you do. -russel

Jon- sounds like you got it pretty well wrapped up. hope you like the results. good luck man. and please keep me posted about some rides. i'm going to go look at another "project" explorer this weekend. so, hopefully this summer i'll have something to play in again. -russel

have you ever thought about a "free-flow" cat? i think their $60 from www.truckperformance.com.
that makes a HUGE difference. i'm talking up to 30 hp and a lot throatier sound. i've been told that's one of the single most important mods is freeing up you exhaust flow. you still need back pressure, but that comes from your muffler and stock length pipe.

I may be wrong but i couldnt find a free flow cat for explorers on truckperformance....or are they universal?

scratch that they dont have them for a 96 explorer, i saw them for earlier models
