I think i'll go that route and have them dump the resonator as well and just plumb the extra length of pipe.

I watched the youtube vid of the guy with the SportTrac with the 50-series SUV and it sounded nice. He also cut off the resonator. Here's the link if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6zR5ML5f6E

thats the exact setup im doing on mine EB but I'm going with a different tip.

I had the Flowmaster 50 SUV installed on friday replacing the stock muffler and resonator as described above. 2.5 in/out offset just like UIN2IT did. had some stainless bent and welded in and it sounds just like the sound clip on youtube.
The soundclip is a great representation of the exterior sound, as for inside, there almost zero drone or resonance. at 60+ it is quiet. good rumble/burble at idle, low deep tone up to 2800rpm, then the engine really opens up.

i noticed right away that rpms raise much easier than they had stock. i did not reset the computer yet but may.
i have a tune, and am not sure if i should disconnect the battery or reflash with my tuner. Suggestions? Does disconnecting battery reset to your tune or to stock?

highly recommend this to people looking for conservative performance sound.

Can you post up a video of it from the outside and inside?

i will try to get a video this weekend.

A video yes, I have been wanting to know and hear what the 50 FM sounds like from inside as well. And if possible, maybe include some sounds that we can compare it to like the turn signal or open door chimes or if out side at idle maybe the reverse warning beeps.? Bender a video would be awesome and so much appreciated. I want to put a 50 on my wife's 06 EB v8 but she is afraid it will be too loud based on the black SportTrac video on YouTube. I am wondering as well.

bender,
Did you have a chance yet to take an inside video of your FM 50 and post it anywhere?
Thanks in advance for anything you have time to do.

what flowmaster do you think would sound the best on an v6 explorer i want something not much louder than stock but with a little rumble

dp- i was out of town, and just got back, i will still try to do this.

No problem and appreciate anything you can do.
