Can I get just a flowmaster 40 series installed and keep my old pipes and get a chrome tip? If so, how much would that cost, and if not how much would a full exhaust system (single pipe) be for my 1993 explorer?

Yeah.... I have a '93 and I just put in a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta-Flow. I increased my pipe .25 inches bigger all the way down and put on a conservative chromed tip.
MUFFLER: 79.99 [Pep Boys]
New piping: 20.00
Adaptor: 2.00
Tip: 3.99

TOTAL about 105.00 plus tax and my own manual labor

I payed around $220 for a 40 series muffler and new piping and tip on mine 4yrs ago.

You'd be better getting a 2.25 or 2.5" pipe run from the muffler, better flow and much more aggressive sound then if you used stock pipes, might as well if your already buying a muffler and paying to have it installed.

By the way, looking at your screen name, do you listen to Thrice? They kick some azz, love Deadbolt.

Yeah i love thrice, theyre my favorite band.

So it wouldnt cost that much extra for me to get new pipes as well if im already getting the muffler?

i had my own flowmaster installed with custom bent piping of 2.5" out the back for $100... the muffler on top of that was like $75 (keep in mind, CA has really expensive stuff)
