Does anyone know how a 40 series Delta flowmaster sounds on a V6?? And what would be the best size that would produce the best sound?? Im thinking about geting a hole new exhaust system.

i have the non delta version with no exit pipe... it is louder than some v8s...... 2.5" exit pipe will be good performance wise and still give a great sound......

ive got delta 40 series with 2" pipe, i like it, not extremely loud

I've got straight out 40 on mine. I can tell you this, it's VERY loud for a V6. I like the interior sound so I didn't get the delta. You'll be very satisfied though! I had a 50 for 3 months but then I found the 40 on Summit for $30 cheaper, so I bought that. Right when I put the 40 on it sounded like my 50, and after a few weeks of breaking it in, it's louder then our 5.9L Durango R/T. Can't beat that!

i have the delta 40 and love it. After the muffler i only have a about a foot of pipe to dump it out the side. My pipe is 2.25. From the driver side its good. On the passernger side you can hear more since it sits underneith. I found that i have more power in the higher rpm's with the flowmaster. I also have a magnaflow. I seem to have more low end with the mag. More back pressure. Go delta 40 and 2.25. If you want it louder then go 2.5, but remember that you need backpressure and i would go with 2.25 with the 40 series.

Would I get backpressure from the delta series??

yes, the delta should provide adequate back pressure, as it is slightly more restrictive than the non delta version.....

I have a sound clip

Frog-Man -
i Have a delta 40 flowmaster catback system on my SOHC V6.
I have 2.5" pipe in/out.

I would recommend 2.25" for the v6 because i feel i lost a lil too much backpressure (and thus a little low end power) with the 2.5" pipe

I like the delta 40 sound. real low and minimal drone at highway speeds.

I have a delta 40 on mine and I really like it. It is loud on the outside but I barely hear it inside. I got 2.25" pipe with mine and I did notice a little less bottom end but a fair increase of top end. I say get the delta 40.

Would you suggest having 2 out the back or just one??

One outlet is plenty, 2 for show. I went with the 40 series with a 2.5 pipe and I love my sound. here's a clip (sever's been a bit weird today, so it might take a while)
