FLOWMASTER Force II Single 2 1/2 inch Factory Exit Aluminized Steel Cat-Back System on a 95 XLT 4.0?

From truckperformance.com for $200.

Is this all i need, i assuming it is? I dont think the chrome tip comes with it though?

I did a search on this but didnt find anyone with a 95 X and im also told they are very easy to install? Isnt there any welding?

Opinions please:)

Just find a local muffler shop, go in and say this is the muffler I want. For $200 you should be able to get it installed a chrome tip and then go out to lunch afterwards.

So this setup will go just fine with my X then?

Don

I bought this exact setup and had it installed at a local muffler shop. They welded it all up...and a total out of pocket was like $210. You may need a gasket....but you can get them at any auto parts store.

So your saying go have it done by a pro?

Most people say it's so easy, i just wanna make sure it's done right, but dont want to spend alot! $210 sounds cheap, i thought it would be much more!

BTW, did you purchase the Flowmaster from the muffler shop or someplace else?

Don

Midas is crazy, they gave me a price at $350!

Where can you get this system installed for $200? Or are you just kidding me.;)

Don

You can buy the muffler itself for around 70 bucks:D

Stay away from Midas and any place like it. Look for a small muffler shop, no national chains.

HeHe, man i not really concerned with the $300 price it's just that ive heard people getting it done for around $200?

Don

If you aint worried about the price tag then just go to Midas and get the lifetime warranty:D

If thats what i gotta pay, then that's what i'll pay. But if i dont have to, then why pay more?;)

Don

No...I bought the system online...then just took it to them so that they could weld it. I've heard that the clamps, especially on flomaster systems, don't hold. I would definately say get it welded together. Even install it yourself....then just see if some place will weld the seams.

OK, where can i find this system for a good price online?

I checked truckperformance.com already, they want $210?!

Thanks

Don

Try SummitRacing.com ...I have the sport....I don't know how much the one for the XLT is.

SSIKORA, is your setup loud or on the soft side?

Don

Med...Not like mustang loud or anything....it was actually a little quieter than I thought it would be. If you want...I can try to get a sound clip of it today.

That would be great!:)

Don

I will try to get it on my lunch break.

Hey one quick question, which muffler comes with that kit i picked out above? Is it the 50 series?

I saw in another thread you said you had the 50 series!?
