Hope you don't regret your straight pipe. Maybe you'll like the sound, I don't know. Jeeps do sound good with straight pipes.

Honesty, I thought I had a riced out honda, with a fart cannon, driving my Ex around with no muffler.

Just my .02

thanks lol then how much is that magnaflow and will it sound good and loud?

look for the mufflers i posted earlier in the thread... those will fit the stock piping, and if you want to get a 2.5'' catback i would suggest either of these too magnaflow...

11226 - NHarris has this one - loud

11256 - I have this one - loud @ WOT

im looking for a loud exhaust what if i get a high flow cat and take out my muffler and replace with a pipe will that be good? anhting cheap and loud that sounds good
02 explorer xlt v6

Check this out:

It doesn't get any cheaper than that and its one of the steps you'll go through on your way to getting a new muffler anyway.

If you're looking for a loud muffler...go for a Magnaflow 13288 XL. May be more expensive... This is a video on a Toyota FJ Cruiser 4.0L on the FJ forum the owner of this FJ Cruiser says his cab vibrates from the muffler noise. :D

I got mine for $72 @ pep boys. It was $82.99 regular price, but I got $10.00 off (on sale).
Greg- Doesn't sound like what my Ex sounded like, but that is a different engine. Its the OHV, we have the SOHC. Still not the best sounding compared to a magnaflow. Thanks for posting the video.

This as close to a 2002 V6 (2001) as I could find, my rig starts to sound a bit ricey at over 2500rpm. It's a bit hard to escape but a nice idle/low rpm note.

Give it some time ;) Mine has started to deepen up. I hit 3 thousand RPM and I sound like I'm packing a 4.6 under my hood, as before I thought I had a lil 4cyl honda motor packed in there.

You've made my day Mate, I may have to look into getting a pod filter like yours...:chug:

Exhaust + Intake (and a tune) = A very torquey motor, and it's loud. :D I rarely take my Ex above 2500 RPM on acceleration. At 2200 RPM my Ex pulls through the numbers like its nothing.

i went to a local performance shop today and i cant straight pipe the exp its a $10,000 fine if i get pulled over so im gonna get either the flowmaster 44 muffler or a thrush turbo muffler which would be louder?

a FM44 will sound retarded loud, and i think you'll get tired of that real quick...

if you stuck on FM heres what my 03 X sounded like with a ( Delta 40 ). both clips my X was completely stock with exception of the exhaust mods...

MUFFLER ONLY ( resonator intact )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xteFO7WFzVc

2.5'' CAT BACK EXHAUST ( no resonator )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0ah6ZC4GPE

again this is a ( delta 40 ) and will give you an idea, that a 44 will sound louder than this...

later i added a K&N Intake, and it made the exhaust much deeper, and a little bit louder...
