just had a DELTA FLOW 40 series FM installed on my truck finally... !!!

i really like the sound it makes, loud when i romp on it, then quiet when im crusing on the highway !!!! so far i like it alot !!!

heres my question ???

since i have modified the stock exhaust system... does the computer need to be tuned since its not flowing like the factory exhaust does ??????

i wanted to tune it anyway, but maybe this would be a good enough reason to tune it now:D ????

come on boys... i need some help

after driving around today, i feel that i burned through way to much fuel after the install of the muffler... heres what im considering ???

A. i have been driving a little more rough then normal so i can here it

^^ most likley but idk ???

B. the computer needs to adjust to it ?????

C. a back pressure issue ???

i think its just A, but again not sure

Thanks, Danny

Nope, you'll have no issues with just changing your muffler to a higher flow one.
And a tune won't make any difference.

you should get us a sound clip.

i got the single in and dual out 40 series in my 01 sport and i love it.

it sounds real loud and deep for a V-6

danny

u should do a video of ur exhaust and also would love to hear a sound clip as well

will do boys within the next few days...

i guess i was just driving rough, cause i wanted to hear it lol..., but then i did have some ppl in the truck. i just got a little paranoid about it.

O well, i like the sound lol !!!!!

RB you said not to worry about a tune to much... once i get an intake - then should i have the computer adjusted a little for the intake ??????

Unless you're going with a xcal or something, I wouldn't bother having anyone mess with the computer. you're really not going to get anymore out of it with just a muffler and an intake than you already have by just installing them.
Just my opinion.

Cheers

Ben

chris...

i paid 120$ to have it done...

but it all depends on where you go, and how much piping they need to custom cut. my guess on a BIG BALL PARK $

100 - 160 ???

idc if my price is a rip off ??? cause, work gave me a 300$ bonus for a 911 ambulance call i was on last week - YAY for saving lives lol !!!!

Danny

Did that include the cost of the muffler and tips?

Im thinking of running single inlet dual out on mine
Im rigging a bronco swing out spare holder to fit on mine.

Just curious ... saves me a trip to town to get a ballpark quote (20miles)
lol

Thankss :D

$100-$160 is good figure, i payed $160 and change for the install and tip on mine

i got single in and dual out 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport.

And I paid about 390 plus tax and it came out to be 410 bucks.

and my sport sounds real loud and deep.

i didnt have a tip installed... im going to be upgrading the piping to 2.5'' after christmas anyway to get a " TRUE CAT BACK ". my muffler is bigger than the stock piping, so i will just be cutting it off then installing it again.

total install COST for me was 200$ even...

80$ = 40 series ORIGINAL MUFFLER 2.25''

* ORIGNAL 40 series inlet/outlet were incorrect

20$ = swap and change to 40 series DELTA FLOW MUFFLER 2.5''

100$ = install

speaking of ( CAT BACK ) HI FLOW CATS out there that work well with FM ?

did u get single in and dual out 40 series or true dual 40 series flowmasters

2.5'' center single inlet/outlet...

i think duals would be pretty sick looking for a 3rd gen, but i dont think im goin duals. im just goin to sick with single. i dont want to spend another 100 or so on another muffler, when i just bought my current one.

i just cant wait till XMAS so i can get the INTAKE, EXHAUST, and BULL BAR checked off my list !!!!!

Danny

awesome u got pics of the exhaust and sound clip

i have the clip on my camera, just gotta upload it on youtube...

should be within the next 2 days, Im on my long rotation at the firehouse this week, so i havent had to much time
