So not sure where to post, but my FM radio ***** out as soon as I turn my headlights or fogs (both HIDs) on, and never used to before the install. Any idea why or a fix for it?

the hid ballasts boxs throws off a lot of power and can cause electrical interference if it is next to any of the lines for the antenna. I also have hids and there are mounted at the very front. Make sure your box is out of the way of the antenna. also does it get static w/ a cd playing?

No, CDs and my iPod are perfectly fine.

The headlights are wired into the stock wiring harness since they're plug and play, however the fogs are wired directly to the battery. They both have the same effect.

Sound like the radio is picking up interference from the HID ballast.

You might be able to install some type of filter between the antenna and radio. Not sure if that's possible in an 04 or not, but worth looking into.

you can always try switching to the newer digital ballast as they have less rfi rating.
