A few days ago, my FM stations all became static. AM stations work fine, but all FM doesn't. Everyone once in awhile you can hear a little bit of it, but then it goes back to static. Anyone know what might be causing this? It's just the stock radio that came with the Explorer. ('91)
Thanks.

You antenna may have come unplugged from the back of your radio or is loose. Only way to be sure is to pull it and check

Alright, I'll go check. Thanks for the help.

Usually AM dies when the antenna is pulled, and FM works...the radio is probably shot.

Bad antenna connection - could be at radio, at base of antenna, or at cable connection in RH cowl side. Sometimes, a leaking windshield can let water drip onto the antenna cable, which wicks up to the radio, causing corrosion at the antenna connection.

I doubt that the "....radio is probably shot."
