2003 Explorer
Hey all, my name is Matt and I'm new to the Explorer world as of today! I'm a Ford nut and I've owned my fair share of them. This is my first Explorer though. I'm a diehard SVT fan too! I currently have an 04 Cobra that is my pride and joy. I actually just turned an 11.9@122mph in the quarter mile with it on friday night! Anyways onto the good stuff. I purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer today for a daily driver. It's a 4x4 with the 4.6L and I really like it so far! It has 85,000 miles on it, but only has the wear of a vehicle with around 20k. I can't wait to learn more about them! Any tips on what to expect or what to do with it first would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new explorer!!

just take care of it from the start.. since you still have low mileage on it, consider converting/changing your fluids to full synthetics to help prolong wear and tear...

Welcome, I too have had my share of mustangs including a 87 coupe I built with a 306 and a Vortech S-trim. I also had a 99 lightning with a few mods, and now I have an Explorer?

Anyways, very nice truck and it looks like you have a decent set of mud/all terrain tires on there. Do some searches and enjoy all the site has to offer.

Welcome to the forums Matt! Both cars look great! Are you registered on SVTP?

Thanks everybody. I like it more and more everytime I drive it! Yes, I am on Svtp too! It's a great website and can be very entertaining when you're bored. Haha.

Josh, thanks for the compliments on the truck. My plan is to one day get my hands on an old fox body. You gotta love sbf's! I bet that S-trim sounded sweet!

welcome matt u got mods done to ur cobra. for your x u should do like exhaust and intake and sct tune it and headers and etc.

The S-trim was so freakin loud its not even funny! I always had people asking "whats wrong with your car, why is it making than funny noise".
I have had an 84 GT, 87 coupe, 88 GT with T-tops, 96 GT, and an 03 GT. I miss the 87 the most! The 435 hp and full road race type suspension made it a blast to drive. I would love to have another fox body, but you have what I want...I would take an 03-04 cobra over almost any supercar out there. They have so much potential.
