Greetings. Happy to be here, thanks for the warm welcome, all that good stuff. I've never been to good with the touchy-feely stuff, so I'll throw a out quick question or two...
I have a '91 2 dr, 4.0 pushrod V6 Exploder. I just put in a new clutch, Y pipe, cat converter, etc.. its a bit of a restoration project but she's runnin' good now.
Q: I have been working on changing all the fluids and my Haynes says I could have one of two kinds of manual transmissions: Mazda or Mitsubishi. No dif to me except that one takes gear oil and the other ATF (yes, for a manual!). So, my burning question: How do I know what kinda tranny I have? All I can find is a Ford sticker on the tranny.
Q: I have the "shift on the fly" 4x4. I have just replaced the @#&*! electronic shift motor for the 3rd time and am wondering if anyone has ever swapped out an electronic shift motor for a 4x4 stick shift or manual locking hubs... Big deal or not so much?
Thanks again for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to gettin my project truck off the ground.
