Fog Light Bezel Install - Help Needed

I replaced my XLS bumper with a Limited bumper, and am trying to install the fog light bezels today.

The bezels have plastic rods that protrude off of the back, and they line up with small holes on the bumper openings. I can push the bezel in place, but then what?

I believe that from the factory the rods are then melted and flattened from the back, which holds them in place permanently. Am I right?

Is there a tool for this? Can I just use a lighter?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

No they use quick nuts to fasten the fog light bezel in(same nuts they use to secure the lower valence) Here is a couple pictures
