Hello there,

I jsut ordered a set of replcement OEM style fog lights off of E-bay, and i have a question.

I see that on my 96 XLT, the bulb is listed as a 899. Apparently these are hard to find in higher wattage.... or different color temps. What are my options? I'm not going to be switching to HID's by the way. I'm looking for a set of either hyper white or yellow bulbs that will work in the stock housings.

Any help would be awesome.

have you tried Autozone for the 899 bulbs? they used to have them in stock.

They probably have stock style replacement halogens, but I'm looking for something either whiter or yellow.

Type in 899 Bulb on Ebay, and you will find what you are looking for, I got my 899 Yellow Bulbs off of there, but don't waste your time with them, there are in no way yellow, just a very dull white, but they do work well, and product a great amount of light, So I wasn;t mad with my purchase.

I was sort've in the same boat as you, looking for the stock style fog light bulbs but with a "different" light than stock. Right now, I'm using an H1 bulbs for the fog lights but because that bulb usually used for headlights, I had to hook up a power and ground wire to make em work there and silicone them into the housing. I used those because those were the only ones I found in an "extreme yellow" color and it definitely makes an noticeable appearance change. Its an awful lot of unnecessary work so I recently gave up and sprayed my fog light lenses with a yellow metalcast paint so I would get the exact same results with a stock bulb.

I'm not an ebay person and I couldn't find any other "different" bulbs in 899 so I caved in and had to take a little extra action. At least from my personal experience, the 899s are too unique and different of a bulb to have any special versions or colors that would satisfy me.
