Hi all !

I'm kinda new here and I'm not quite sure about posting etiquette...

I have a 98 Explorer Sport that I recently purchased that had some shoddy bodywork done to the front end. Part of the shoddy bodywork includes a cheap front bumper cover for a '99 or 2000 withOUT fog lights...the factory wiring is still intact, though. Will '99-2000 fog lights hook up to the factory wiring connectors ? Or is it better to order another front bumper cover and foglights from a '98 ?

Thanks ! This looks like a great forum !

Here's an idea for ya if you're willing to take the risk of it. I myself had a fender bender a few years ago, and ended up buying a new facia without foglights, due to it being cheaper. Well, later done the road I decided I wanted fogs, so I used a 1/2" drill bit to cut a hole into where the foglight would have gone stock, and then used a reciprocating saw to cut out a hole. I purchased some little cheapo $25 HID fogs from AutoZone, wired them right up, and now they work like a charm. I'm not 100% on what the right answer is to your question, but generally wiring systems that are similar to one another use the same type of connectors, so, by this hypothesis, the fogs should work properly.

Luckily the '99 bumper cover on the Expy now has the cutouts for fog lights...they just have a faux cover over each of the holes that can be easily removed.
