Need to replace my fog lights, can anyone recommend anything that has more light or led or something
that would work as daytime running lights?
Also would like to brighten up headlights, any recommendations.

are you looking for a brighter bulb, or something that actually provides better viability while driving? Those two arent always interchangeable.

I installed BeamTech bulbs in my headlights and fog lights.
Just doing the fog lights will give you a huge, and I mean huge improvement, not so much the headlights.
Nobody makes HID headlight units for our cars.

Both fog-light lens covers fell off, I would like to replace them with something that throws more light. I did see one Explorer that had led's that served as running lights builtin to the fog-lights, but cannot find them.
We live in north-east Iowa and it gets quite dark here and way to many deer, as for the head lights something that will provide better viability. I suspect that better light-bulbs would do, the bulbs I have now are OEM. just don't know what bulbs to go with that won't blind oncoming traffic.

I put 6k HID's in my 2007.... fogs are not canbus so they are plug and play but the head lights send error out messages so you have to play around and make a harness and add in a load resistor.... it all has plugs so in the end its still plug and play but the initial setup needs rewiring and soldering ...... look for a bi-xenon hid kit that has halogen high beams or you will end up like me not having highs and if you flip the stalk you get the error but I never use high beams.... I cant exactly remember all the hoop la i went throught but I could take a picture of my harness if you would like so you could reverse engineer my process LOL

explorer pl, Do you have the P/N for the BeamTech bulbs you used the fog lights

Are the BeamTech's for the fogs a white LED?

I put some LEDs in the puddle lamps and now I'm looking to replace the fogs so it doesn't look bad when I unlock at night.

Any LED you buy should list its color temperature. 2-3k will produce a yellow light, 4-5k will be pretty white but still yellow tinged, 5.5-6.5k is considered "daylight" which means things caught in the beam will look pretty much the same as they do in sunlight. Much over 6.5k and it starts to look un-naturally blueish.

The ones linked above, according to the link, are 6.5k.
