I have a question on the operation of the side view mirrors. I have a tight garage to fit my next car into. As I am pulling into the garage, can I instruct both mirrors to retract while I am pulling in or do I have to be parked first before they will retract?

The difference between unfolded and folded is 6.4" on the Explorer. 89.3" vs 82.7" respectively.

I know it sounds trivial but this makes a good difference IMO. Whether or not I snag on the mirrors while nearly sliding along the garage wall is the difference between swearing off a big car next time.

Can the auto-fold on vehicle lock-up be disabled?

Thanks guys. Such a complicated vehicle!

Point taken.

I have a single garage and always fold the side mirrors before entering. The explorer is probably the widest vehicle that my garage will comfortably fit.
