Follow up on '99 XLT issues

I had previously posted a thread about my cruise contol, and chiming issues. Some very wise man told me that the chiming was due to a burnt out air bag light(thank you who ever you are). I took out my instrument panel and found to my suprise, the air bag and abs lights and sockets were completely removed. I just purchased this vehicle in December of 07. I removed the socket and bulb from the 4X4 low. The chiming stopped but the air bag light comes on and shows a LFC 19. On the truck side it calls a 19 a RCM Crash Data memory full:roll:. Is that the same for explorers? I could kick this guys ass who sold it to me, I asked him if it was ever wrecked, and he looked me straight in the eyes and lied to me Im betting if I put a light in the abs slot the abs light will be on. I tried getting new sockets but nobody carries them and ford wants $15 buck each for the sockets, ouch! I still have not figured out my cruise control issue but im guessing if my abs light would be on it might effect that, does that sound right?

Try looking in a junkyard for the sockets. I'm sure it's a little hassle to have to take the cluster apart, but at least you'll get them cheap, if not free (some junkyards let you have stuff like that, no guarantees tho).

I think, and I'm not certain on this, but I think the ABS and the cruise control do share some components. IIRC the cruise control gets the speed from the rear ABS sensor.

Just get all your indicators installed first, they're important. Since you've got the cluster apart, it's a good time to make sure all the others are working. (Make sure they come on and go off when starting the engine).

Thanks for the info, do you think i can get a RCM for the air bag malfunction, if the explorer im getting from is not wrecked?
