Probably not, unfortunately. Hey, has the dealer checked the engine mounts? One or more of them might be ruptured (assuming the Sport uses fluid damped mounts).

It goes in tomorrow and if they can't feel it or says it's fine ect i am going to install stock air filter again to see if there is a change that's it..only thing i have really changed..will also try another dealer if they say nothing is wrong or see if i can rive their sport on the lot and compared..becasue if that doesn't have it..then something is clearly off

I don't have a sport but I had the same vibration felt in the pedal you describe, it would get better on nicer road but was still noticeable. Dealer replaced tires on my CPO and it still did it, then they replaced both front wheel bearings and I finally have a smooth ride, no vibration in the pedal or steering wheel. It was only felt above 40+ MPH and now I can do 80 and it's still smooth.

I have the same problem on my first gen

Im running 32" wranglar mtr kevlars but its a old truck and i dont mind it

Was it on accel or just driving? It;s like a humming/vib i feel..

UPDATE:

Dealer called and said they couldn't feel it...which is so hard to believe but my only guess is they drove it on a loop they have and they took be before and it's all newly paved roads. So i told them i want it driven on highway and bad roads...they are doing this tomorrow but i still know what they are going to say most likely so i will probably have to try another dealer....a lot father away....

Based on others and i just talked to someone very knowledgeable in this and they said it's most likely a wheel hub issue..one or both. as i have a slight moan at highway as well.

They did replace front rotors for me due to the squeaking and 1 was warped..not sure if this could cause this issue but i feel like it's a hub issue now..

Now if they still say fine and i go to another dealer and same thing..i will just but the hub assembly myself for $98 each....it shouldn't come down to this..but this will be worse case

It was a constant humming while driving at all, accelerating didn't make it worse or better. Above around 40mph it was a constant vibration with a low deep hum that neither got louder or worse, just constant.
After new tires it was still there, then replacing both front wheel bearings fixed it completely. It is now silent with no vibration in steering wheel or felt in the gas pedal.

And 2 people i spoke with went right for the hub assembly as well...like i said worst case they are $100 each for the entire assembly plus cheap labor from my mechanic..but i will get Crystal involved here before we go that route if the other dealer i bring it too in a few weeks says same thing

Yours is a 2014 right? Out of warranty already?

Mine is a CPO, had 51,500 miles on it when I purchased and I'm at 53,300 now. Within that time (about 50 days total) they've had to replace left rear, left front, and right front bearings.

23K...but these dealer trips just not going anywhere with my work schedule..just isn't easy.

Like i said last resort and it would be a few months away ect becasue i will be in for 2-3 more visits before that happens

I had mine in twice before they finally agreed the bearings were the issue. I was told the service manager drove it and said nothing was wrong. I went back out to the dealer and had him ride with me, made him feel the steering wheel while on the highway and try to tell me it was normal. After that fun little trip they fixed everything.
I would chock this up to just bad Motorcrap parts, as usual. So many little issues with these Explorers.

Mine is pedal only....this is my 2nd time for the issue...next time will be the dealer i bought it from. Ford isn't know for the great suspension/bearings longevity ect. But this Sport is fantastic!

Excited to get my tune in this week!

Drove it this AM. They couldnt feel anything abnornal. Called it charastic of vehical. Driving my moms jeeps yesterday and that pedal didnt hum or have road feel..

Time for another dealer...much further away...

A bad hub can certainly cause vibration felt in the peddles, the seat, and even up thru the steering wheel too. Have you tried jacking the Exp up so the front tire is off the ground, gripping the wheel at 6 and 12 o'clock, and shaking it back and forth yet? If it has play in it then the hub is likely beat. Do it to both sides. If it doesn't then it's something else in the suspension. Worn hubs happen more regularly on vehicles with large rims and tires more so than on smaller equipped vehicles. This happened to a lot of guys with Jeeps running what are considered oversized tires. This is how I've always checked for worn hubs. I'm coming from a Wrangler on 35 MT's... My Sport came with the equivilent of 30" tires so they are big tires/wheels for a vehicle.

OP, do what I advised above in regards how to check the hubs. It will take you 15 minutes at the most and you won't be wasting your time asking the Dealer to check them out. Just make sure it's in park, on a level surface, rear wheel chocked, and use a sturdy floor jack. You can borrow one from Advanced Auto if you don't have one. I'm assuming you do because you said that you were thinking about changing out the hubs anyway yourself. Just jack it up enough to get a good grip at 6 & 12 o'clock to give it a good yank. I like to use my 6 ton jack stands as well for extra support when using a jack. Either way, you know how the old saying goes: "If you want something done right; you have to do it your d@mned self!"

I have done it and i get no movement. But from someone i talked too who had a similar issue..theirs didn't either..but as soon as they bought OEM hub assembly's for both fronts and installed...issue went away. This person also had this rough feeling in pedal and floor ect and would get better if say road was new or newly paved. (this was from a vendor here who has a Ex sport as well...)

Also when just starting off...slow turns in say a parking lot ect you will feel a good amount of the road in the pedal and some in wheel.

I also feel like this rubbing/humming in the wheel at around 80...not a vibration..best way to describe it is what i feel in pedal but not nearly as bad. It definitely feels like it's coming from something rotating...but the tires check out becasue old ones that were VERY cupped and choppy...do it the EXACT same way as these brand new tires.

Faster speed...worse it gets..When i shift trans into N on highway..doesn't change it so i really doubt it's trans. Ruled out trans...tires. Drive shaft idk but i test drove a sport the other day...doesn't have my issue...

Also it seems louder then it should on the highway in general no matter with this set..or last set of choppy tires

The outlined above is another Tell-Tell symptom of a bad HUB unit bearing from my experience! The fact it's not a transmission/drive line issue is pretty evident when you put it in "N" and get the same set of symptoms speaks for itself. That leaves a suspension/steering component from my experience as well. I really hope you two having the same set of problems get this hammered out and start enjoying your Exp's again.

One tire was very choppy over the other...and i know this could mean bad suspension...but if it was a bad component..it wouldn't be able to be aligned or stay aligned i would think?

It has stayed aligned over the last 4 K miles...i am still leaning to hub unit...if this next dealer can't find anything and say all is well...i will take matters into my own hands and replaced both hub assembly's as OEM can be found for $96 each shipped...but i will contact ford corporate before this happens...

The last 2 times i went to my local ford dealer..they saw how choppy the tires were (1st time) and said it was probably the cause of my road feel..replaced tires and nope and i told them this...but keep saying..everything is tight and we can't feel it.

BTW...when i brake..i can't feel this road issue..i feel nothing..like the gas pedal should feel like. And based on it getting better when newly paved road..leads me to the hub or something in the hub

I am making apt tomorrow for a couple weeks out to bring it to the new dealer much farther away...will explain all this to them and go from there. I need to find that 1 tech who feels this and THEN i think they ball will get rolling. I have a few pieces of rubber actually tapped to the gas pedal right now to minimize it as driving on highway for more then 45 min gets pretty annoying.

I drove my moms jeep and other exp and the gas pedal has not had this humming/road feel issue...smooth sailing all around..but mine isn't so i just don't know how the dealer says it's normal

Would also like to point out..my new tires maybe have 500 on them? Alignment and PSI is fine...but my drivers side..isn't getting choppy..but i can almost feel like it's starting..still feels smooth and flat..but not as smooth and flat as right side....

1. Yes, you could still get it aligned... (see outlined red above.)

2. You say when you hit the brakes the issue stops... That to me says it's the HUB unit bearing. When you hit the brakes the calipers push against the pads, the pads press against the disc, the disc is attached to the HUB via the wheel & lug nuts: the HUB becomes stabilized/supported by the brakes being pressed. It's your passenger side HUB I'm 90% sure. Get both front HUB's replaced and I'm again almost positive your Explorer will ride like it did off the assembly line again...

I am going to try to get ford to replace them for me so i don't have to shell out $200...i am making a list now so i don't forget anything to tell them

But first..i have to get the person to actually feel this roughness and not just say..oh it's fine.

And that's the hard part my friend. Make sure whoever at the dealership, (preferably their lead mechanic) ride with you driving... I just called my brother who is a master mechanic and helps build/restore muscle cars for Year One... He agrees with me & you. It's your HUB's! The only other remote possibility it could be he says is your CV axles. But we doubt that because the pedal & floor vibration would still be present when you put on the brakes if it was a bad CV joint. Also, you would probably notice CV boot grease leaks on your driveway/garage. You would certainly notice the CV boots leaking like a busted sieve underneath the car.

I've fixed stuff myself in this situation because it was easier, quicker, faster, and done correctly the first time other than waiting on the Dealer to pony up, pun intended, to do the right thing. I realize that is not the easiest solution for most though and I agree with you that Ford should fix your problem 100% on their dime & time. Heck, have two of Fords mechanics ride with you at the same time if you can swing it. Good luck bro!
