2002 Explorer XLT
Hello,

I've got a 2002 Explorer XLT that won't start. The truck has sat idle for 6 months. Battery is charged. Whenever I turn the key, you hear a single click coming from the engine compartment. Jumping from a battery charger in 30a quick start mode as well as my F150 it still . Tried jumping from my behaved the same. Any thought what to try / look at next?

Thanks,
netkeeper

Check starter or alternator.

Long known and long proven -- if you go to start a Ford and all it does is go "click', then clean your battery cables at the battery. Remove the cables and clean the surfaces. Reattach them and see if she starts. I've helped people in parking lots just by picking up a rock and giving the cable a good tap -- it works in a pinch.

Try it, see if it works -- if it doesn't then you only wasted ten minutes and zero dollars.

A Ford dealer taught me that back in about 1984.
