I've been looking over this site for a few months now. Think I should finally introduce myself. My first ford was purchased February 20th 1995 it was and still is a 1994 Mazda B2300 and its been a damn good truck. Now I have a family and a vehicle that tightly sits 3 isn't roomy enough. So having vowed to never trade in my truck I bought a previously enjoyed and enjoyed again and again 1997 Ford Explorer XLT this past April.
It had 220K when I got it, air is suffering from the "black death", and a few other minor issues. This site has been a wealth of info as I have fixed a few things here and there such as: Transmission fluid leak, Front Differential leak, driver side back door latch. Air will be repaired when I get tax refund in 2011.
This is my first 4x4 vehicle and maybe I'll get the nerve to take it out on some easy trails but for now its just a great vehicle to drive my two son's around so they aren't complaining about the other one touching them.
Thanks for all the info and good advice on this site and I think I'll be hanging around for a while.
