Ford Explorer alternator

1996 Ford Explorer
A new battery was just recently put in and the battery gauge is reading high.
What is going on? Could this result in a bad alternator?: :p
 






Not necessarily. Because the old battery could have had bad cells, the voltage might not have ever come up high enough.

Check the battery voltage at the Battery terminals with a DVOM. You should read around 13.8-14.1 when the truck is running.
