Ford F150 Rough Take Off

I have a 1989 Ford F150. I have 55,000 miles on a rebuilt engine. Everything was fine until my alternator went out on me. After replacing the alternator and reprogramming the computer my truck jumps and spits on take off. Also my fuel consumtion is heavy. It feels like I don't have any power on take off and climbing inclines. I don't have a check engine light coming on and my truck dosn't have a MAF sensor. I have changed the fuel filter , air filter, with no help to engine performance. I would appreciate any suggestions or help. Thanks

Have you changed the plugs and wires lately?

Changed The Plugs And Wires

That was one of my concerns also but it did not help the problem. I even took it to the ford dealer and they were not much with helping either. On take off from a dead stop it will spit and jerk a few times then it will take off.
