I have a 1989 Ford F150 5.0 liter engine. The engine is rebuilt with 53,000 miles on it. It worked fine until a few months ago. I change fuel filter regularly and perform routine maintenance often. My problem is when I take off from a dead stop my engine hesitates and jerks and spits on take off. I did some research and found out my model truck dosen't have a MAF sensor. Changed plugs and wires with little improvement. My fuel consumption is killing me it seems like the engine is sucking it out as fast as I put it in. Also my check engine light is not coming on so I guess everything is fine as far as sensors go. I need help if anyone has suggestions. Thanks
