Ford is going to be in San Francisco June 15-16 doing that test drive thing. There's going to be on and off-road test tracks as well as extreme sports events. Check here http://www.noboundariesexperience.com/ I know I'm going to be there to put a Mustang through it's paces, if they'll let me:D

Don't get too excited... From what I have heard from their previous events, your "coach" is there to say "go slow, go slow". I personally think the No Boundries thing is ridicoulous. They don't have one new offroad vehicle to back up their slogan.:thumbdwn:

No Boundries means here is a truck to take your skis and snowboard to the resort. Or, here is a truck to take your climbing gear to the mountains, leave your truck at the trail head, because we don't want to be "liable" for any accidents in our vehicle.

Can you tell I'm bitter?? I'm just sick of Ford building an SUV for every niche except for the offroad enthusiast.

Come on FORD step up!

Whoa! Rick's mean streak comes out.;)

what Rick said..

get with the program ford! i'm tired of everyone looking at me like i'm stupid for taking an explorer offroad.

Seriously. When I first saw a no boundries pamflet at the local Ford dealer I about creamed my pants in excitment. Then find out it's crap. NOT COOL FORD!!! JUST NOT COOL!!!

i wanna roll up there and say "can i see if my little truck can make it? without a coach" and then show em what a real off-road truck can do. all those Ford guys would just about s**t there pants if they see a semi-lifted explorer!

Take it with you and see what everyone else at the event says. Stir up trouble and make Ford take notice.

I think Rick needs to take the Pumpkin to one of these things...

I'm with Rick on this one... The "No Boundries" slogan is a bunch of (excuse me but) ****... I'd take that new 02 X on some stocker runs out here... But no further than that... That to me is a boundry... Maybe Ford forgot to check the definition of boundry before they started using the slogan, because it sucks... They're using for all the vehicles and it just isn't true... I have to admit, I'm a gearhead at heart, I'm not a brand specific kind of guy, but I have always leaned towards Fords... But when the time comes to buy the next car or truck, I'll be looking elsewhere besides just ford, thats for sure...

wow, that is amazing rick, never knew ford was at some of our gatherings. Do we dream of a day they produce an already slightlyu modded off-road explorer? sort of like the chevy blazer zr2. That would be wonderful.

I'd take that new 02 X on some stocker runs out here... But no further than that
Maybe not even that far Heath. Here is a 2002 I rented a few weeks ago. In this pic the front right and left rear tires are off and have no more traction. At this point I could go no further forward and I was in 4 low.
This is not an off-road vehicle.

anyone see that race around the world show where they gave the teams new Xs to race offroad for part of the race around the world?

My god that explorer sucks. An economy car could make it further than that.

If there aren't any boundaries why is that thing stuck in the middle of a dirt road?

those two pictures are disgustingly upsetting!!:(

Yeah those pics are a little upsetting.

The thing is, it's like Ford has tunnel vision. They don't make specialty vehicles for ANY type of enthusiast. No off-road editions, no street or super sport editions, just little weaklings meant for soccer moms. Pisses me off. In their stupid little commercial for "No Boundries" they show SUVs like Explorers doing outrageous slideouts in the middle of nowhere on FLAT dirt. Pathetic.

I don't like Chevy's but at least they recognize their buyer's interests. Take the Blazer for example. For the off-roaders, it's the ZR2 model. For the street guys, it's the Xtreme models. Ford has one street truck, the Lightning, and the BOSS versions, both of which are outlandishly priced.

C'mon Ford, get with the program, because 1/2 of the soccer moms are driving Suburbans anyway.
