So, brother has a 94 F150, 300 l6, 216K miles on it, got it from a scrapper who didn't do anything for upkeep, used it 7K miles, and sold it for $500, before him, it sat in a junkyard for three years when a dealer folded shop and scrapped the cheap inventory, the owner used it for a yard rat, and it hadn't had an oil change since 09. Well earlier, the time had come, it's been sitting, so I decided to change it and get it roadworthy. so drained it, and run a quart of cheap oil through when it stopped dripping to make sure I got it good and empty, put a Motorcraft filter on it and filled it with Castrol 10w40, and it runs quiet, no smoke or noise. When I pulled the old filter, there was no oil that ran out, and it's really heavy, so that goes to show, some things are just naturally indestructible.

That 300 straight 6 is virtually indestructible, one of the best engines ever produced.

I've gotta agree there. I'm a big fan of older Ford engines, most of them take more than their fair share of beating, but this one stands out IMO, it's not even acting like it's hurt and most modern engines would have probably had some degree of destruction
