SVT? What does it look like? :D

its actually not SVT. Its SLP. whatever SLP stands for. i think it was a private contractor ford hired.

it looks like a normal ranger with a 1.5 inch lowering kit and 16" polished aluminum rims. the front airdam looks more sporty and it has a beefy looking hood scoop. it also comes optional with a hardtop for the bed and a rear spoiler, wich i thought was ugly.

it comes in a 3.0 and a 4.0 SOHC.
the 4.0 puts out 222hp and like 247(?)tq.
it averages 14.7 1/4 and a 0-60 time of 5.6secs or something like that.
i thought it was kinda cool. a v6 that has that much power. just think if ya added a blower to it. yad have a 13second v6 =)

Heres a couple pics

lol it looks riced out IMO :o ...that spoiler's gotta go. It could also use bigger rims, at least 17s.

I propose they dump the name. It's an insult to the legendary '64 Fairlane Thunderbolt. That my friends, was a factory hotrod (I had it's plain brother, a 289ci Sport Coupe).

 :shoot:
I saw that ranger in TRUCKN' and thought that it was really cool except for the ugly a@# graphics and spoiler, other than that the truck is nice.

I just don't see how an air induction and free flowing exhaust is enough to get a otherwise stock 4.0 Ranger in the 14's. I have an S10 with the 4.3 and it has pulleys, exhaust, and air intake and I smoke the Rangers, and my 1/4 mile times are low 16's.

I was wondering about that too

14.7 1/4 and a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds would mean it's faster than a ML55 (Fastest production SUV) with 342hp and 376lbs of torque :p

Maybe they have a bottle hidden somewhere that nobody knows about . . . ;)

No, big block+big power

i assume thats supossed to say "big block = big power", but theres lots of other ways to make "big power" without breaking the bank on a big block.

+ was 'posed to be =, thanks.

Sure you can make power with a small block ( I have had a 400 HP small block Ford ) but, its easier and more reliable in a big b;lock. There is no substitute for volumn.

i dont know much about the reliability of big blocks, but as far as easy, its probably easier to go with forced induction or nitrous (and its a hell of a lot less $.)

on another note, if you wanted to spend a lot of money, you could get upwards of 2,000 hp out of a small block, though it would be highly unreliable, heh.
