Ford to help with cost of new engine !!!

Well, I received the news that Ford will pay for 1/2 of a new engine for my
02 Sport Trac that was 9 months past my 3 yr. warranty but only had 31,000 miles on it. I'm satisfied with this outcome $2000. is better than $4000. out of pocket. Soonermedic

I guess if you feel satisfied then that's all that matters. I think it sounds like a fair deal, yet something deep in my pesemistic mind still wonders if YOU really share in 50% of this whole problem. That scares me to think with my 05 that suddenly in a year from now I would have to cough up $2,000+ so I could keep my truck alive. I am interested in the whole story here and have been following it from the beginning. Thanks so much for keeping us up to date!!! I guess having a brand new engine is good after 3 years. What kind of warranty will you get? Since the vehicle's bumper to bumper expires, is now just your engine going to be covered? How 'bout the tranny?
I wish you all the best with this situation. Terrible you have to go through such a deal on a fairly new vehicle. Like I said, kind of scary!
