Lets hope they stop jumping around and keep this engine for a long run like the 7.3L -- the 6.0L and 6.4L didnt have a very long run.:thumbdwn:

Yeah no kidding. The 6.0 has had it's problems, but the 6.4 seems to be doing better. I know the 6.4 with a tune, cai, DPF delete/exhaust are putting down 450+ HP and 1000+ lbs of torque at the rear wheels. And since Ford is building this themselves and not Navistar, let's hope their testing is spot on so that it's as reliable as the 7.3. Ford seems to be getting things right with the quality builds and power in their new vehicles, let's hope it continues!

Personally, I dont really care too much about the torque and horsepower figures as long as its moderate for towing (which most modern diesels are) and as stated earlier, also reliable. In other words, I hope the engineers didnt look at trying to squeeze every ounce of power out of it, because that fundamentally increases the likelihood of overstressing some part or a set of parts. People who want more power will always find a way to get more power, but as a baseline, it must be a dependable engine off the bat (and hopefully also easy to service).

Very true! I would prefer reliability out of it first and power second(and still be reliable;)). Sucks for those who spend 40,000+ on one of these just to have it breaking down on them in a short period from normal use. Let's hope Ford is on the right path with this one;)
