FORMER EX OWNER...QUESTION FOR ANY1

Hi, I used to BIG COUNTRY...I put my few shares into this site about some threds of installations I put out there. Like, How to install the factory keyless entry, (adding) an operateable rear washer bottle, power memory seats, auto lamp/dimming rear view mirror, overhead console and last but not least...the most famous: HOW TO INSTALL A MESSAGE CENTER (TRIP COMPUTER)...
I drove from Fairbanks, Alaska to Albuquerque, New Mexico...traded my explorer in (even though all those installations I put in). I then got a 2002 Chevy Avalanche...and 2 weeks later, I traded that in for a brand new 2004 Chevy Cavalier with 7 miles on it for my wife for xmas, and a 2003 Dodge Ram with 6,000 miles on it for me. Just the other day I put in an auto lamp/dimming rear view mirror in. In conclusion, does anyone know if there is a DODGE RAM site like this one that will help me along the way on transforming my RAM into (limited model)???

Sorry to hear you sold your Ex, but I'm sure you'll enjoy your Dodge. We have an '03 Ram dualie, with a Cummins to pull our Explorer to the trail.

Yea, I made it okay....4,700 miles, didnt run out of gas and didnt break down. I did however had 2 flat tires on my trailer, one in Arizona and the other in New Mexico. Im sad I got rid of my Explorer, but im so glad I got the truck of my dreams! I really wanted a Hemi Dually but I found this one for only $15,000...standard red cab, short bed, 3.7 v6 on 17" chromies...cant argue with that... Im happy with it, I just got to add a few options...

How long did that take you? I wouldn't mind doin a road trip outta here sometime, guess i'd have to drive back in though if i ever want to see my car again....lol

from Fairbanks, Alaska to Seattle, Washington ...it takes 4 days...2,300 miles
From Olympia, Wa to Las Vegas, Nv 1,100 miles...1 day 20 hours...
I then went from Vegas to Yuma Arizona...300 miles- 4 hours then from Yuma to Albuquerque, Nm 700 miles- 10 hours. Basically, the whole trip took about 400 gallons of gas!
Watch out in Canada, alot of animals on the road, like deer, moose, elk, foxes, rabbits, and buffalo... plus the cities are very sparced apart about 200-300 miles away from city to city...I changed my oil and transmission fluids in Washington cuz Canada is pretty rough with mountains, alot of hills and rough on your tranny... There was only one time I ran til the gas light came on...luckly, there was a gas station couple miles down, and that was in Nevada, of course, I had 10 extra gallons in my trailer that I didnt want to get into it unless I had to...Other problems I had was 2 trailer tire flats and my driver's side wind deflector flew off in Canada cuz the wind was strong...
I want to thank everybody for the list of stuff I needed for this long trip...I brought, emergency radiator tape, flares, electrical tape, tools, 10 gal. gas, tow strap, first aid kit, rachets, 2 engine belts, 4 qts oil, 4 qts transmission oil, bottle of antifreeze, fire extinguisher, mutimeter, extra battery, 2 flashlights, 2 spare truck tires and 2 spare trailer tires, 2 cans of fix-a-flat, tire repair kit, blankets, chains, spare fuses and light bulbs, and last but not least, a portable dvd player (A MUST WITH KIDS) very helpful!!!

Hey man!! Welcome back!!! Sucks that you sold the Explorer after you've put sooo much time and effort to your mods but it's all good!! Stick around and enjoy your new Ram!!

Thanks for the list of stuff you took with you cross country! (or should I say cross continent ) I plan on moving cross country in several months, and wasn't quite shure what I might have needed.

I will enjoy my new Ram, its awesome! Now, I just got to upgrade some mods on that... This is my first manual tranny...I love it, something to play with instead of boring automatic...
