My 2002 Explorer 4x4 came with flat 4-wire trailer plug. Am buying boat trailer which has flat 5-wire plug (I'm told fifth wire is necessary to operate solenoid which locks out surge brakes on trailer in order to back up.) The fifth wire has to be wired to Explorer back up lights. How do I do this? I don't see any way to remove red plastic tailight cover. Is there another, hopefully easy , way to accomplish this plug change?
