I found this free OBDII software specific for Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Mazda:

http://forscan.org/

It is amazing, reads nomal PID's, PATS, ABS, ETAC, CAN bus... stuff that Torque can only dream to read.
I am using it with a ELM327 mini V1.5 (from eBay) and my laptop with integrated Bluetooth. If your laptop doesn't have BT, there are avail cheap BT-USB dongles.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I just downloaded it and tried it out with my cheapo $10 ELM cable from eBay. Looks like I have a couple stored codes that didn't show up with my other OBDII software -

1. B1352 Ignition Key In Circuit Fault
2. B1942 Air Bag Crash Sensor #2 Feed/Return Circuit Failure

I'm pretty sure they are both old, both of those problems were resolved quite a while ago.

Also I tried out the diagnostic tests, it was weird sitting there during the GEM test and having my door locks lock and unlock, window roll down, and lights go on and off all by themselves.

Anyways cool software and it's free!

I have too the B1352 code, plus a couple related to rear window wiper - that wiper isn't working correctly now (leaves a spot not touched).
How did you resolve the ignition key issue?

Those GEM codes don't trigger CEL, they are not read by usual OBDII software, so you won't see them unless you go to the dealer.
For me the ABS module is the best, since you can actuate the valves in needed (to air it out).

How did you resolve the ignition key issue?

All I did was spray some graphite lock lubricant in the ignition, I figured it was the key sticking or something similar. The problem wasn't a big deal, the only symptom I had is when it was REALLY cold outside the door chime would occasionally give one really long DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING instead of the DING DING DING if that makes sense lol.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the software and it works great.
It doesn't support the abs test on my 96 5.0. all the other test work great

There is some other program I use called ScanXL. It's free. Really nice program. You got a trial on it to start out with...

Is not free.
ScanXL ($80) is not even close in capabilities without the supplementary Ford enhanced module ($99).

Will the ELM327 mini V1.5 work with windows 8?
I downloaded the forscan, just need to get the correct interface.
Thanks

It was 100% free. I got it, I know. I mentioned it was a trial, but it's a free trial.

I currently use scanxl and the interface leans more towards the programmer type. Some of the stuff on there has hexadecimal and random stuff on there. Imma give thise software a try and see if it's a little more user friendly. Plus Scanxl like you said doesn't give diagnostic tests unless you upgrade it

Great find!
