So basically it's roughly $1000 for a front locker.....

Yes, You are basicly looking at around One Grand, but it will be the best one grand you'll ever spend on your truck for 4wheeling.
All those who have numbers, please send the appropirate information to Gerald.

Ray, I still need to know if this ARB would word in an ST... a Sport Trac that is. With all indications it seems like it would but being a man of honor, and busy exhausting my resources; not only can I not get a definitive answer, but I can't pledge a slot to you until I can allocate proper funding. So if you can get an answer on the first portion, I will continue to work the latter. Cheers, Becker.

Becker69,
As a matter of fact I do have a answer for you. Yes you have the same front diffy as the Explorer. Sorry for the delay, but been very busy and with all the stuff going on with the Nation, I just forgot to tell you.

2002 Ranger FX4

If it will fit my '02 Ranger front end, you can count me in... I will also e-mail the registry.

:( Sorry guys i am buying a bronco 2 this weekend to beat the hell out of offroad . I am just killing the explorer!

I have big plans for this little B2:-)

If this falls through with the bronco i will keep you updated and get back on the list.

NOT TO SOUND STUPID BUT WHAT IS A FRONT AIR LOCKER . JUST THOUGHT ID ASK

joeycyph56, this buy isn't for you since you have an older model Explorer. This is for '95+ Explorers. Also, do a search on lockers and you'll find what you want to know.

Ray, I just noticed I never put my name on the list. If this ever gets off the ground, I'm in. (unless some other company makes one first, which in that case I'd buy theirs)

sorry i have a 01 sport trac is the locker made to fit this truck

my nex question is what does the front air locker do . i not really sure i understand and i tried to search but coundt find any thing

It locks up the front differential with the flick of a switch. If you are offroading and one of your front wheels comes off the ground all your power would go to that wheel, but with a locker, both front wheels receive equal power.

Sorry it took me sooo long

ok questions first and ten you can ount me in.... Will I have to get a full time locker in the rear? Or will this work well with the factory L/S ? Are we also talking about regearing? (I have 4:10)....I don't know if (ARB) they have one out for my 88 Bronco but if they do...if I get a front and rear for the Bronco....and also the front for the Explorer...will I be eligible for a discount (had to slip that in here somewhere :D ) I'm also stuck out here in the East Coast where they think the only offroad worthy vehicle is a Jeep..findng someone who even somewhat knows what their doing will be no easy task.... I think what I am basically saying to this is.....if it works with my existing L/S rear (until I get the gumption to buy a rear locker) and I don't have to regear...and I can find someone who is pretty good with install .....then you can count me in...

Also...you may want to contact MetJeep.....he is a Jeeper but he also has an offroad worthy Ex....Since he has joined and basically runs most of his club (East Coast 4x4 Experience) he doesn't get to check the board here very often and probably hasn't read this thread...

Karol, you don't have to regear or have a rear locker. If you get a rear locker, you could also get an air locker and run it off of the same compressor as the front.

Well

I'm not really interested in locking the rear.....I'm not even sure about an air locker up front....I mean ....I would if they could make it worth my while...(as in the Bronco deal I was talking about)....I definitely want to do lockers for the Bronco...I just don't feel like changing out a perfectly good L/S unit when I have many other mods I have in mind for the Bronco....

EB96 They don't make a front air locker for your bronco. You have the dana 28. The only choices there are lincoln locked (welded spidergears) or a lockright. You could swap in a dana 35 from a newer ranger or explorer and then there is an air locker available with that.

For everyone questioning weather they need lockers YOU DO. In the past week I have wheeled with 3 different 95+ explorers and all of them had to back down obsticales because of no front locker.

Thanks for helping us feel inferior Matt. ;)

Not trying to make you feel inferior just trying to point out that adding a front locker will help everyone run more difficult trails. Also for those saying you will break more when I was open front and rear in 8 monthes I broke 3 axleshafts and 1 hub. in over 3 years of lockers I haven't broke anything in the drivetrain. You can be easier on your truck cause it will crawl through areas that speed would have been needed other wise. I know what it is like to have to back away from an obstical because of my gearing. If there was a way to put an np435 in my truck I would be all set to go.

Matt

Karol,
This thread is only for those who want to get a front ARB locker for their 95+ model.
Please don't go off topic. If you want one for your front diff on your 95+ model fine, otherwise don't post here about your Bronco.
