1994 Ford Ranger 4.0l 4x4
I just recently purchased a 1994 Ranger 4.0l, 4x4 with 85000 miles. I noticed the front drivers side wheel sounded like it was rubbing. I thought it was probably the brakes so I removed the wheel and checked. The brakes are fine; however, it seems that when I attempt to turned the rotor it sticks. I'm not that knowledgeable with the Ford 4x4 system. I was wondering if this was a common issue that is fixed easily or, if it could be something more serious like a bearing or worse.

It's not uncommon for people to overtighten the bearing preload on these frontends... (destroying the bearings) I would say best course of action is to pull the rotor and inspect the bearings. If they're damaged, replace the bearings & races with Timken stuff (pt# SET-37 ×2 per side).

Also check that the lock ring tab didn't jump the spindle groove and ride up onto the spindle threads, as this can result in over-preloading the bearings as well (N/A if you have auto-locking hubs)
