Well,
This is my first post, so here goes. I was wondering why the front axle conversion is done. I finally found information saying that Explorers had gone from a live front axle to an independent "half shaft tubes" starting in 95. Didn't realize it had been that long. Read further that the IFS is pretty reliable, but has slightly less suspension travel. I guess if you're building a rock crawler the conversion works better. Any other reasons? RalphJ
