replaced passenger front outer seal in hopes to stop the leak. still leaks like before. why wouldnt this stop the leak? could a plugged vent tube cause the issue?

Was there a groove worn in the axle shaft where the seal contacks it? If so that is why. You will either need a speedi sleeve or have replace the axle shaft.

where the cv axle rides on the seal is smooth and clean.

Plugged vent might cause some leakage, but it's not like the differential is under high pressure. How much is leaking and when did it start?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that side is known for leaking...might wanna do asearch for a TSB.

about two months ago. checkd the fluid level and its about a half inch or so below the plug. so its not a massive leak, but enough to piss me off. so i will have to tear that seal out and replace it again. i will check the vent. is the vent tube for the diff ran over to the driver side upper a arm mounts? i noticed a vent tube over there when i replaced the a arm.

Yes, I believe that's the one. I noticed it when doing an upper control arm replacement as well.
