I'm starting to get noises from my front brakes. I't sort of a clunking noise with a rubbing noise thrown in. I've always heard a noise from the front brakes ever since I bought it two years ago but lately it's gotten worse. It's driving me crazy. I got the front brakes serviced last year with new pads and new rubber caliper bushings. Any help would be a great help, Thanks

you could have scratches in the front rotors, in that case you would need to get them sanded down. I reccomend that you take them to the ford dealer to have them sanded.

Hey Todd, The clunking noise is probally the radious arm bushings..The griding noise can either be a wheel bearing or a bad pad.. I have had the pad actually break and fall apart before on brake jobs that are under 6 months old. Depending on your driving style, they may already be wore out. Take it to a good brake man and have him check it out..Also have the radious arm bushing checked, willing to bet that this is where the clunk is coming from..

I've already had the radius arm bushings replaced with ployurathane bushings.

Then check the caliper holding clips, one may have worked loose. also, jack it up and rest it on the frame and check all the front end components for play..

Thanks mdrut, I'll check my caliper clips. Do you think that noise could be comeing from my ball joints?

I have polyurethane ra bushings I replaced 8 months ago, and they are creaking again! So don't rule out your ra bushings just because they are new...

I am looking into getting some of the graphite-impregnated ra bushings to replace. Since I replaced the rivets with bolts it will be an easier job this time around...
