front bumper swap

maybe someone can help me , i have a 95 xlt and i want to put a 99 xlt bumper on ya know the gray painted one but ive heard they arent interchangeable which seems a little hard to believe being the truck hasent changed much in that amount of time. i think the painted bumper looks like much smoother than my chrome bumper with the plastic pad on it. well hopefully someone can give some advice it would really help.

They are interchangeable. But you need the whole assembly, the brackets, and bumper.
