03 SPORT TRAC XLT 4X4
Hi everyone! I guess i am what you would call a newbee to this site although i have looked at it many times. anyway I have a 2003 ford explorer sport trac (1st gen)
and something inside my front carrier assembly let go. I haven't opened it up yet but i know its the culprit ! so i am just going to replace the whole thing as it has 275,000 miles on it. what i need to know is if anybody know if a 2005 front carrier assembly with the same axle ratio (4:10) will be an exact swap to my 2003 ?if anyone can tell me it would be a big help , or if i am in the wrong area to ask just say so.

I don't know for sure but I don't see why it wouldn't! I would think all Gen 1 ST from 2001-2005 were built the same. So your front differential went out? It's a 4x4 correct

The rear mounting bracket is different between the years but a ranger one would work too. The only concern reusing your current bracket would be rust.
