Front Coil spacers

Front coil spacers......Are they safe? do they go on top or below the coil? do they affect my alignment? Do I need a spring compresser to install them?
You guys rule the trails!

Do a search in this forum for a post titled "cheap way of lifting"

I went both routes, coil spring spacers and new springs, I would strongly suggest the latter.
