One thing I don't like about the Explorer is the center console is very deep and hard to see into. I have acquired a few factory ambient light bulbs to rectify this. Going to put one inside the front and rear console. Since I don't care about being able to change colors I will only need to connect two of the wires from each lamp. Just need to run the wires to switched power so they will always be on when the car is running. Now I just need a warm day (and my Ex to be built) to do this.

Do you have a part number for those lights? I am thinking of doing the same. Thanks.

Not sure of the part number as I got them out of a wrecked Flex. The actual LED's are part of the wiring harness and have to be purchased as such from the dealer, with the plastic "deflectors" a separate piece. Those just snap on.

Here is what I use a 3 1/2" flashlight. I think it was $1.99 + tax. Three AAA batteries included. 9 super bright LEDS. Since the Explorer doesn't have a light under the hood, I carry this in the vehicle. No wiring required.
Riley, I do admire your ingenuity and would definitely like to see what the finished product looks like. Nice to see innovation on member's part.
