:frustrate

My Exp 91 is leaking like mad the oil from the front diff.
Every time it is parked there's 4 or 5 drops on the floor.

The axle going to the front rear wheel has a play on the diff bearing (like a loosed part), and when I move it up and down, a drop of oil comes out from the gap between the axle and the diff.

I made a thread some months ago for this problem, and someone says me that the play was normal. But now, the leaks is more, and the level is always going down and I'm not sure if that play of the axle is normal.

Besides, I have a popping / clunking noise from the front end when driving on rough roads, but I haven't found where is the source of that noise, I'm thinking it is this axle.

Is that play on the axle normal ? Do I need to remove the front diff ? any damaged seal or bearing?

the noise is always in 2WD, and when I put it on 4WD, the diff leaks too much.

thanks for your replies.

Sounds like the seal is shot:( Also sounds like your radius arm bushings are gone too:(

Well, I have replaced the radius arm bushings...
I haven't find the source of the clunking ... but i think it is the seal as you say. The clunking noise is louder now and It isn't leaking any more because there's not more oil to leak !! ...
I think that replace the seal is a very hard work and needs a lot of time... and maybe a lot money, too.
Am I right ?
