99 limited v8 explorer
My Google-Fu is weak tonight. I'm looking for info on what diff is in the front of my '99 v8, so I can re-gear it. Yukon doesn't even list my model year on their site - they jump from '97 to 2001. I've read on here that the front diff uses standard cut D35 - not reverse cut like the earlier models. Ive also read about the "super 30" stuff. I'm confused... can someone straighten me out - please help.

Also, since there seems to be a lack of bonafied info collected in one place maybe a Mod can sticky this for future generations?

Your 99 is a D35 standard cut. You are correct, only the earlier models use the reverse cut. All of the explorers used a Dana 35 in one form or another, earlier models used the D35 with double cardon joints(TTB,1st gen). Later models used D35 with CV's(IFS,2nd gen). Also as far as I know, the model 30 is a rear axle.
